Portfolio Manager – Real Estate Finance
The Company:
Our client currently has a £250m loan book and their average deal size is £3m. They range from simple investments like corporate bonds to complex assets and structured products and they are very experienced in structuring CLO transactions. In the last two years they have grown into the UK and they are now looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager to join their team.
Job Objective:
The role is based in the London office and is primarily working with UK based Development and Bridging loan clients. The role holder will also support in administering live loans and portfolio oversight. This is a wide-ranging role that will appeal to an individual keen to develop their career and play a critical part in helping the UK business grow.
The role will also entail the use of, and to support, the development of their loan management Platform and associated assessment tools to facilitate funding opportunities and internal reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Liaising with third parties such as the borrowers, valuers, monitoring surveyors, lawyers, and other professionals.
• Loan Servicing and portfolio management. Monitor progress of development projects including reviewing monthly monitoring reports and recommendations of funding advances.
• Prepare and present monthly portfolio reviews across UK (and offshore) loan book, watchlist and recoveries cases to UK MD, Group Credit Director & Group Property Director.
• Reviewing professional reports as part of their ongoing client due diligence and monitoring process. Implementing agreed processes and conditions to complete and monitor loan advances.
• To oversee day to day processes, systems, ensure acceptable due diligence is undertaken, file reviews and risk mitigation.
• To liaise with technology team to identify efficiencies and enhance the loan management process for both internal and external parties.
• Risk Management oversight, continually reviewing policies and procedures – making improvements where necessary.
• Ensure strong relationships with their clients including seeking repeat business from clients and recommendations / client referrals.
• To act as a senior member of the UK team
• To promote the Company’s core values.
• To build and maintain relationships with key service providers, such as Valuers, Monitoring Surveyors, Insolvency Practitioners and Solicitors
• To undertake all other reasonable tasks as requested.
Requirements:
• Proven track record (with a minimum of 7 years experience) of management of Development Finance loans as either a lender or from a relevant construction / development background e.g. Monitoring Surveying.
Remuneration:
The role is paying up to £110,000 on the basic dependant on experience, plus bonus and benefits on top.
